Presentation of the Maritime and Transport Law Section of the Madrid Bar Association, chaired by Luis de San Simón.

Last week, the Section of Maritime and Transport Law of the Madrid Bar Association, chaired by Luis de San Simón, was officially presented in a dynamic  academic act which was followed by a cocktail which was attended by a number of lawyers and Bar authorities.

The basis objective of this new Section is to integrate those legal professionals whose exercise is related to the the shipping, ports, logistics, multimodal and related sectors. For Luis de San Simón with the opening of the Section “we intend to open a body which contributes practically and effectively to the development of the transport law in harmony with its international development and to address the reality of it to the various players.

The aims of the Section is to train legal professionals and promote the Maritime and Transport Law; to establish a permanent link with the Courts of Justice and to create a specialized Arbitration Court; to be present in the legislative process as well as in the ratification of international convention one with the creation of a Committee of experts which could be of help to legislators and all the involved authorities and departments; and to promote a permanent link with the sectors institutions.

Mr. Luis de San Simón hopes” that the Section will become immediately with the participation of  its members and support of the Bar Association an attractive and helpful one for the benefit of all those practicing Shipping and Transport Law and all the others interested in this sectors”.
